The mechanism of photon propagation – understood as quanta of the electromagnetic field – will be explored in depth to understand how light interacts and moves through space. Subsequently, the fundamental operating principles underlying modern quantum machines will be examined, demonstrating how the manipulation of individual quantum states now enables the encoding and processing of information. The aim of the session is to provide a clear overview, based entirely on empirical evidence and the theoretical formalism of physics, of the quantum phenomena that are redefining the boundaries of contemporary technology.
